11 March, Game 0: Gold 2 White 1.
Well, the last 15 minutes was worth the wait. The Gold team rallied from down 1-0 with 15 left to escape 2-1. More importantly, we connected passes, swung the ball better--just lots of nice stuff.
I agreed with Coach T's post-game comments about how well the backline did swinging the ball weakside throughout the match. It is one of our strengths.
I will love to watch some of the highlights tomorrow especially that quick throw-in from Mazz off Maggie's head and down to Grace to tie the score. Also, I did not get a good look at Coulter's goal as Leah had just been helped off the field. (What a break that the trainer cleared her to go back in because it was not as serious as it looked.)
I thought Mazzarese made a couple or four big-time goal-scoring tackles in the first half. She stopped Grace on an almost-unstoppable goal.
So, we thought we got better each shift; we also thought we found plenty that we can work on in practice. Overall, a nice way to start the break.
